Over a three-year period, the Board approved a second public offering and majority ownership by WR Grace; and authorized formation of several Environmental Technology joint venture companies to accelerate the growth and market expansion of Canonie Environmental Services which included SOILTECH Inc. (partnered with UMA Engineering Ltd. Of Canada) and Nuclear Remediation Technologies (NRT) Inc. (partnered with General Atomics)
Soiltech, Inc. – Board member of this joint Venture of Canonie Environmental Services Corp and UMA Engineering Ltd. of Canada which developed, licensed, and patented an Anerobic Thermal Remediation Technology that treated PCB’s and PNA compounds at multiple EPA Superfund Sites. The basis for the technology was the patented Taciuk Thermal Processing Unit develop by UMA Engineering Ltd. to extract petroleum products from large scale Oil Shale deposits in Canada. As was the case with the Low Temperature Thermal Absorption (LTTA) also licensed and patented by Canonie both Thermal Technologies were approved and demonstrated in the EPA SITES Program.
Nuclear Remediation Technologies Corporation - Board member of this General Atomics Led JV with Canonie Environmental Services Corp. created and funded to explore/advance remediation technologies associated with Ten Nuclear Weapons Repositories across the US. Eventually absorbed into ongoing operations of General Atomics the JV focused on a number of both high level and low level Nuclear wastes in both water and soil, including spent fuel, uranium mining and milling tailings and DOE waste processing Facilities/Storage.
